International NLP Coaching Council

About the Council

The International NLP Coaching Council was founded on a simple conviction: methods with the power to influence people must be matched by an equally serious standard of responsibility.

Why the Council exists

NLP-informed coaching has grown rapidly, but professional expectations have not always grown with it. Clients can find it difficult to distinguish careful, ethical practice from unsupported claims, blurred boundaries and coaching presented as a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.

The Council exists to define a clear standard, maintain it and build a credible framework through which practitioners can be assessed and held accountable.

A standards-setting body

INLPCC is not intended to be a certification mill or a social membership association. It is a standards-setting and recognition body. Recognition must carry consequence: it is earned against published criteria, maintained through continuing obligations and capable of being withdrawn when the standard is broken.

Our stance

We welcome a plurality of schools, models and coaching methods. Practitioners are free in method and bound in conduct. On how thoughtful, responsible work is done, we are open. On client welfare, honesty and professional integrity, we are not.

Where the work stands

The Founding Charter is the Council’s first public standard. The recognition criteria, public registry, continuing development, supervision and complaints procedures are being established. Their complete terms will be published before practitioner applications open.
